Heather Turner

Heather Turner is a freelance statisticial programmer and an Associate Fellow of the Statistics Department at the University of Warwick. She has been an R user since 2001 and has contributed to a number of CRAN packages, notably gnm, the generalized nonlinear models package, for which she was awarded the John M Chambers Statistical Software Award in 2007. Heather was the first female editor of The R Journal, becoming editor-in-chief in 2011. She was also one of the first women to be elected as an ordinary member of the R Foundation and she is leading an R Foundation task force to encourage greater female participation in the R Project.
